John Casablancas Modeling Modeling Agency

John Casablancas Modeling Agency, also known as Elite Model Management. The agency was the first of its kind—originating the concept of setting up the mega-agencies that know dominate the fashion industry. The success of Casablancas' agency can be attributed to the model scouting system he pioneered. He believed that models had potential beyond the typical slim, tall girls commonly seen on the runway. He sought out models with unique looks and raw talent, knowing that these models could become stars. This system of scouting created a unique pool of models, making the agency stand out from the competition and giving it greater market reach.

  • Legacy and Reputation: Founded by industry pioneer John Casablancas, the agency boasts a rich legacy in the modeling world. Its long-standing reputation for discovering and nurturing top talent adds a layer of credibility and prestige to the models it represents.
  • Industry Connections: With decades of experience, the agency has cultivated strong relationships with leading fashion designers, brands, photographers, and industry influencers. These connections provide its models with access to a wide range of high-profile opportunities.
  • Global Reach: The John Casablancas Modeling Agency operates on a global scale, with offices and affiliates in major fashion capitals around the world. This expansive reach means that models under their representation have the potential to work internationally.
  • Exclusive Opportunities: The agency's stature enables it to secure exclusive opportunities for its models, including participation in prestigious runway shows, campaigns for renowned brands, and collaborations with influential creatives.
  • Professional Development: The agency is known for offering comprehensive training and development programs to its models. This includes guidance on runway walking, posing, communication skills, and overall professionalism, empowering models to excel in various aspects of their careers.
  • Negotiation Expertise: With its seasoned team of agents and legal professionals, the agency has the expertise to negotiate favorable contracts, competitive compensation, and favorable working conditions for its models. This ensures that models receive fair treatment in the industry.
  • Portfolio Enhancement: The agency assists models in building and refining their portfolios, showcasing their versatility and strengths to potential clients. A well-crafted portfolio is an essential tool for attracting high-quality assignments.

  • Opportunities for Growth: The agency's reputation and expansive network create a platform for models to evolve into influential figures in the fashion and entertainment industries. This growth potential extends beyond modeling and into areas like acting, entrepreneurship, and brand collaborations.
  • Brand Association: The association with the John Casablancas Modeling Agency adds a level of prestige to a model's personal brand. Clients often view models represented by such reputable agencies as reliable, professional, and committed to their craft.

The John Casablancas Modeling Agency also changed the standard for youth modeling. Instead of relying on teens whose age and physical development was consistent with those of adults, he favored younger models, often signing them while still in their preteens. This opened up opportunities for models unable to meet the stringent standards of other agencies, giving a new generation of models a chance to be seen. John Casablancas also used tactics such as unique marketing campaigns and media promotion to distinguish his agency from the competition. These campaigns included heavy television advertising, where he often appeared on shows to talk about the opportunities available.

He also often provided editorial pieces discussing the importance of models in the fashion industry, and encouraged photographers and stylists to work with his agency. His agency even launched an in-house magazine, Elite Magazine,to highlight the success of its models. John Casablancas was a trailblazer in the modeling industry, encouraging diversity and establishing a model scouting system that is still used today. His name is still a staple in the fashion industry, synonymous with excellence and success. The John Casablancas Modeling Agency is considered one of the most respected and successful modeling agencies in the world.

John Casablancas Modeling Complaints and Reviews

Very Rude

I went to a group interview at John Casablanca center in Langhorne PA. I spoke with Annie **. She was rude. The thing is scam. When I spoke up she asked me to leave and said she would call me. She is a con artist and need to be stop. Other people fell for because they want their kids to be famous. We have to expose for who she is.

Hey! Well, my case, I always wanted to do modeling, I just never knew where and how to go about it... I kept hearing about JC, since back home (Colombia) ..and I decided to talk to my parents and give it a try... They polished me anandtaught me everything I needed to know, I graduated on 2009, and since then I've been doing commercials, music videos, modeling for an online clothing store, fashion shows. I also did modeling competitions, but that was on my own, not through them... And I got recognized, I did more fashion shows, I had the honor to appear in two magazines, one of them on the cover... But , I did all of this, because they taught me , the skills, I already had potential, I just needed to get better, get confidence about it... I'm 24 now. And I'm not modeling anymore, because I have a baby, family, and I feel I past that phase. Good luck!

I wrote to this company telling my interest in modeling. I have told them I have always wanted to model and Didn't want a company just wanting to take my money. I then looked at the reviews at contacting the company through via email, which I should of some before even contacting but didn't. They then called me the next day about my interest and I answered. I was at work with a bunch if dogs barking in the background so I had hung up. The manager or whoever named Tim left a rude message with a nasty tone. You think I want to model for someone with a attitude? No dint think so. This was his voicemail. "This is Tim from casablanca.I don't know if you're having phone problems or what!!?, but I am calling you about your interest in modeling, actually I'm just contacting you back!!! Bad quality

My experience at John Casablancas Denver MTM was not a good one. From my first experience, they were more condemned about getting the sell than selling the benefits of this program. Each week, they went over very basic discussions and obstructed very, very, very little. Each week, the "instructor" or "coach" spent 3/4 of the session telling war stories...Children were falling to sleep and very disengaged. The only thing that my child learned, was how to "slate" and say "I am non union and I'm with MTM Denver". My daughter has joined a different school and is thriving, which i was hoping would be the case there...When i voiced my concerns, all I got was a SCARE tactic, saying, "You signed up and you WILL PAY, whether you're here or not". It's your choice to leave, but, you will pay us. They provide a very mediocre service, run by very unprofessional and under trained staff. It is more like a class on business improvisation...They have ZERO concern about training the best students, in the industry, the only are focused on how many people that they can TRICK. They were doing SO bad, that people were leaving left and right and i should have left then, as well...But i am still glad that we got to experience such a HORRIBLE product, because it helped us know a great one, when we found it...So, thanks for that. I would NEVER recommend this school to anyone. They are unprofessional, unorganized, inept and ill-prepared to help anyone that is serious about modeling or acting. I was VERY disappointed. Shore up your entire operation and actually follow through, with what you promote. I should have believed the reviews and the people that i asked about your operation.

I have called there many times but, it appears that they change directors and staff frequently so, my messages never reach the right people. My niece is leaving for college and she would like to obtain proof of her hard work. I am so frustrated at this point. He said 200 will work for now. I read reviews a few days later and told him I don't want to anymore and he told me either i send a letter to cancel or Ima keep getting charged!! And also he will not give me my 200 back!!I worked hard for that 200 dollars. Very angry and disappointed that I felt for that place.

Scam your money

I am an upcoming model, doing very well for myself. John Casablanca is a NOT a modeling agency. They just want money...they claim it's to "train" you to be a good model. NO. That's dumb. Please do NOT send your child or yourself to any scamming "agencies" like John Casablanca. My best advice is to advertise yourself on ModelMayhem.com. I've got plenty of paid offers from there. NUMBER ONE RULE when it comes to modeling...IF YOU PAY FOR ANYTHING, YOU'RE GETTING RIPPED OFF. Modeling is free...and photographers, employers, etc are supposed to pay YOU. NO JOHN CASABLANCAS!!! lets shut them down!

I took my daughter to an audition at John Casablancas Houston location. The vibe was really fun and the director and other talent scouts are very nice and respectful. The audtition went really well and they told my daughter she needed training since she just started out. Which I agree. We scheduled a second appointment and they explained everything very thoroughly and into depth. Prices weren't too bad. And I liked how they have different payment options and they didn't pressure me into paying right away. They let me go home and talk to my husband and come back with the down payment. We came back and enrolled my daughter and she's been loving it ever since. We are excited to see the outcome of her training. Houston JC is the best by far.

I was a student at JC Boston/Newton for modeling and acting. Before I signed up I was hesitant because of all the "scammer" claims on review sites. But I signed up anyway and I'm glad I did. I don't think people realize that it is a SCHOOL to learn about the industry of modeling and acting, they tell you they aren't guaranteeing you jobs. Although you are signed to their own agency (MTM) when you graduate, but it's not exclusive so you can be signed to other ones in different regions. I just graduated and had done two jobs before graduating, which is awesome. If you have actual potential and are willing to put in the time, effort, and money into this career, you will do great. If you're expecting to just sign up and become the new worldwide known face of modeling or acting it will never happen. They are a company so of course they will take in people they know don't really have that much potential in the industry, just like any company. This school gets you connections and allows you to network with people you otherwise wouldn't come across with.It teaches you a lot about why models are they size they are and what fashion really is (wearable art). I personally enjoyed my experience with JC and am happy I joined.

I was contacted by John Casablancas because of my high school senior pictures. They asked if I had ever considered a career in modeling. Being a very young woman I thought this was a thrilling opportunity for me. I agreed to come to their "audition". Once there I was led into a small room with several others. They then begun running down a list of famous models who had got their start through this company. They then asked each one of us, if we were interested in print modeling or runway. We were all given pamphlets about the company, and career oortunities and the "training classes" that they offered. We also did a quick runway walk. The agents took notes and asked questions of the ones they felt they could work with. Then they told us they would be in contact with us. I received a call back and went in to discuss how serious I was about modeling, the training they offered, and working for the company. Like so many others I took the VERY expensive classes, took photos and begun working first as a recruiter for the agency. Then I went on to do instore modeling, where my trouble began. Being called plus size while wearing a size 9-10 is degrading but I let "that" roll off my shoulders. However when I found myself in a store modeling in what I can only describe as a gang bangers mall store in clothes that where large enough you could have put two more people in, that were cinched up with a belt so long it drug the floor, and gold chain around my neck that had the biggest pot leaf medallion I have ever seen, I grew EXTREMELY upset. The store played music over its speakers that was so foul mouthed it would have made a sailor blush. I stayed and finished the job but as soon as I got off work I called my agent who I complained to. Telling her that I was a young mother and I was married to police officer and that I was ashamed to be seen in such a place. I asked to NOT be placed in such stores. She then told me "in this business you sometimes HAVE to work in places you do not like". I informed her that it was more than a DISLIKE. I felt that by working in that particular store I was portraying an image that I not only disliked but I also felt was morally and fashionably distasteful and that while I was glad to work in any of the other stores or boothes they had previously sent me to that I could not in good conscience work in "that" store any more. She then begun ranting and raving over the phone about I was being unreasonable and that she should fire me. I then told her that if those were the types of stores she entended on placing me in that I would quit as I first of all did not my children, relatives, friends etc. seeing me represent myself this way, and secondly I did not NEED that job so badly that I was willing to demoralize myself that way. She then begun cussing me at which time I simply said I QUIT and hung up. Now I am not a saint by any stretch of the word but being a mother I refuse to put myself in situations that set such an example for my kids. After my experience with this company I would suggest that if you chose to go through this agency, you should consider EXACTLY what image you want to set for those around you. Because if you aren't careful you could wind up lookin like fool.

They polished me anandtaught me everything I needed to know, I graduated on 2009, and since then I\'ve been doing commercials, music videos, modeling for an online clothing store, fashion shows. I also did modeling competitions, but that was on my own, not through them... And I got recognized, I did more fashion shows, I had the honor to appear in two magazines, one of them on the cover... But , I did all of this, because they taught me , the skills, I already had potential, I just needed to get better, get confidence about it... I\'m 24 now. And I\'m not modeling anymore, because I have a baby, family, and I feel I past that phase. Good luck!
